Whilst Ikon AVS came into existence in 2002 its roots go back to 1988 under the name of M+D Design. In 1996 the M+D moved from a garage adjacent to the owners home into industrial units 16 miles away in Hartlebury. Even before the move M+D had supplied many systems, via other installers, to major clients including New Scotland Yard, CSFB at Canary Wharf, Royal Armories, and Legoland among many others. With the move came more major contracts as well as the commencement of manufacturing of specialised control equipment and interfaces. Both the manufacturing and installation divisions grew over the years; until in early 2002 the decision was taken to create two separate companies and dissolve M+D Design. Ikon AVS Ltd continues the manufacture of AV control and connectivity products whilst Nebula Audio Ltd continues the Design, assemble, installation & commissioning of systems.

All Ikon products are designed applying the “Reliability through quality and simplicity” principle, only components of the highest quality are used throughout, highly skilled staff are used during all stages of manufacture and product design is kept as simple as possible to increase reliability and reduce costs.

The Ikon staff, between them have, over 100 years of experience in the electronics industry and all are expected to attend site regularly to acquire experience of the real world.
